Amendment 4 to AIS-156 Published on Dec. 20, 2023

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) published the amendment 4 to AIS-156 on December 20, 2023, which has new requirements for swappable battery pack. And this amendment comes into effect immediately. In AIS-156 Amd. 4, battery swapping stations are required to comply with clause 6.1.3. If vehicle manufacturer declares that every vehicle will be provided with charger, then the charger provided should also meet the requirements of this clause. If you already have an AIS-156 Amd. 3 test report and the battery pack is swappable one, then you’ll need to test for clause 6.1.3. Please refer to the annexure for the requirements of 6.1.3.
